On February 11th took place the first meeting of the Thematic Working Group (TWG) NEM_MEX from the Mexican Technology Platform (MTP) via Satellite Internet access provided through satellites to users world-wide. The service was provided by the Virtual University of Monterrey Tech.

This meeting had two main objectives: integrate de whole member of NEM-MEX and to analyze the effectiveness of this technological tool with the purpose to use it in future meetings between European ETPs members and Mexican MTP members. The meeting was managing by Miguel Ramirez. Also Mr. Guillermo Safa, president of the Steering Council of MPT, and Mr. Mauricio Lozano, leader of the NEM-Mex TWG, were participating in the meeting.

It was a pleasure to have great attendance via satellite internet. The online transmission let met NEM-MEX members of whole country just by access a webpage of Virtual University. Picture 1 show the main screen of the conference where the participants can see the speaker and the slides of the presentation.

The first part of the event dealt with FIRST project concept and the MPT and its TWG implemented to Mexico. In the second part the speaker showed the main issues of the European Technology Platform NEM and its operational dynamism. The possible role of the NEM-MEX in order to collaborate with NEM ETP was mentioned. In the next part of the conference the organization of the NEM-MEX TWG was dealt with by the speaker and the members connected by satellite internet. The final part of the meeting tried about future actions to organize a meeting with NEM ETP people to start a strong collaboration to join efforts to next UE founding calls. Member connected expressed their opinions during the meeting by skype application software. Twenty four members and persons attended the meeting. The communication tool demonstrated to be reliable to use in the project due to MTP is a national-wide effort that join the main actors of ICT components and services. FIRST-Mexico will expect to use this facility in next meetings with European partners.
